Not missing removable plates here. The Breville BSG520XL's nonstick coating is excellent! NOTHING sticks to it, making cleanup as simple as wiping it off with a paper towel.
Heats up in a couple minutes and can melt cheese in a sandwich in a matter of seconds (not kidding). Outside is crispy, never burned, and inside is melty.
The only bad thing is that the little adjustment knob on the side is useless, except for locking and unlocking. Don't buy if you're looking for that feature.
